CAT LOUNGE VOLUNTEER

Do you love cats and believe in our mission of finding cats their forever home? With as little as one, two hour shift a week, you could really make a difference to making our mission possible. However, it’s not easy and you may break out in a sweat.

Volunteer shifts are between 8am and 11am every day of the week. We have to clean and tidy up after the kitties evening activities - there is, generally, lots of puke, poop and pee to clean up. Litter boxes are full and need scooping, cleaning and sanitizing. All surfaces need to be cleaned, sanitized and sparkling for guest arrival at 11am. There’s lots of sweeping, vacuuming and wiping of surfaces - it’s quite physically challenging. We also don’t have the resources or time to teach volunteers how to do these tasks and use the tools (broom or mop).

You would need knowledge and experience on how to clean, be able to spot areas that need additional attention and care about doing a good job. While pottering around cleaning, you would also need the confidence to communicate any health issues or odd behaviour of the cats you witness….and let’s not forget the very important role of cuddling kitties after your work is done.

If this sounds like a role you would be a fit for, fill out our Volunteer Application Form and send back to jobs@catelowna.com and we will be in touch when an opportunity opens up.
